** PREPARING YOUR POND FOR WINTER**

Homeowners who have invested in a family pond can extend the useful life and enjoyment of this resource with a routine management program. Guest speakers will be available to offer advice about:

  • Weed identification and control
  • Simple testing to assure water quality
  • Fish species that enhance a pond, for sport and biodiversity
  • Natural remedies for common pond problems
Following the morning's educational program, the afternoon activities will include a question and answer session, after which guests can enjoy a tour of Poling Aquaculture, a fresh water fish farm, and Clark Summit Alpaca Farm, another family venture. Useful publications will be provided to help you apply the day's information.

Please plan to bring your lunch and spend the day. We will provide cold beverages and a light dessert.

Directions: Fisher Road turns off Route 149 by the town library, across from the Congregational Church. Go straight when the paved section turns to dirt to where the road makes a curve to the left. There you will see signs for the event. For further information, call 603-464-3301 after 6 pm.
