The New Hampshire Aquaculture Association hosts workshops, field days, and community gatherings throughout the year. Our events are designed to provide practical, hands-on education for anyone interested in fish farming, pond management, and aquaculture in New Hampshire.

Preparing Your Pond for Winter

Hosted by: Poling Aquaculture, Fisher Road, Deering, NH

Join us for a full-day workshop at Poling Aquaculture's fish farm in Deering, New Hampshire. This workshop covers everything you need to know to get your pond ready for the cold months ahead.

Topics covered:

  • Weed identification and control strategies for New Hampshire ponds
  • Water quality testing and interpreting results
  • Selecting fish species for sport fishing and biodiversity
  • Natural remedies for common pond problems
  • Guided tour of the Poling Aquaculture fish farm

This event is open to NHAA members and the general public. Bring your questions about your own pond. Melvin Murrel and other experienced fish farmers will be on hand to offer personalized advice.

Summer 2007

NHAA Annual Cookout & Picnic

Our annual summer gathering brings together NHAA members, their families, and friends for a day of food, fellowship, and fish talk. Held at a member's farm in the Hillsboro area, the cookout features locally raised fish, potluck dishes, and plenty of conversation about ponds and aquaculture.

Farm & Forest Expo

NHAA participated in the annual Farm and Forest Expo, a statewide event connecting agricultural producers with the public. Our booth featured information on fish farming in New Hampshire, pond stocking resources, and membership materials. This event is a great opportunity to reach new audiences and introduce them to the world of aquaculture.

Have an idea for a future workshop or event? We welcome suggestions from members and the community. Past workshops have covered topics like pond construction, fish health, water quality management, and marketing farm-raised fish.
